the gift of membership! The SHPS, a private, nonprofit organization, relies on contributions from members and friends to support its work in fulfilling the Society’s mission. No matter the size or the type, all gifts are meaningful and provide important support for the Society's programs and services. Ways to give:
SHPS Preservation Fund – A restricted endowment fund established by the Society’s Board of Directors. Monies from this fund are used for the acquisition and protection of significant properties in Marion and for their subsequent restoration and preservation. David S. Arms Endowment Fund – Like the Preservation Fund, this donor-formed endowment fund is available for the purchase of and/or restoration of a significant building or property. In addition, this fund may be utilized for surveys or studies leading to the purchase of a significant property and for administrative costs associated with an acquisition or preservation project. J.W. Rosbe Education Fund - Established by SHPS Board of Directors in recognition of past president Judith W. Rosbe, whose many significant contributions to the Society included the development and offering of educational programs for youth and adults, this fund provides financial support for ongoing programs and educational activities. Memorial Garden Fund – Proceeds from this fund are used to pay for maintenance and additional landscaping for the SHPS Memorial Garden, a monument established to perpetuate remembrance of citizens who helped to create the community of Marion.
